We are so glad you found us and hope to welcome you to our Sonoran Sea Paradise!

Located in the Sandy Beach area on the beautiful Sea of Cortez, the Sonoran Sea is a luxury resort offering unobstructed oceanfront views and amazing resort amenities that are sure to enhance your vacation experience.

Our goal was to create a comfortable and equipped space that can be enjoyed by friends, families, couples, and those looking to immerse in the relaxing vibe of Rocky Point.

The Sonoran Sea Resort, your paradise away from home, has 3 beach front swimming pools (one heated during winter), an onsite dive shop, a swim up bar, family and adult jacuzzies, convenience store, on-site restaurant, fitness center, children’s playground, tennis court, basketball court, pickle ball court and 24 hour security.

Step inside our spacious 3 bedroom, 8th floor, end unit condo and let the relaxing vibes wash over you. Enjoy breath taking sunsets over the beautiful Cortez Sea from your private and ginormous balcony!

Rocky Point is a paradise just South of the US border and the Sonoran Sea Resort is your front row seat to some of the best sea shell hunting, beaches, and exquisite sunsets.

There are three challenging golf courses in the area for the golfers in your group as well as several educational opportunities such as the Intercultural Center for the Study of Deserts and Oceans (CEDO), the Pinacate and Great Desert Biosphere Reserve, or take a boat trip to bird island!

Drive over to the Old Port area of Rocky Point for many restaurants, popular bars, art galleries, tourist shops and stands, fish market stops, and a large plaza for special events.

There are also many opportunities for deep sea fishing excursions and private charters. If you are looking for more adventurous activities, drive across the dunes on rental ATVS or ride the waves on a jet-ski. If you wish to get a bird’s eye view of the beach, soar above in an ultralight, or parasail over the Sea of Cortez. Banana boats can be found on the beach and kayaking is another fun activity. Sunset cruises are a fun way to enjoy the beautiful sunsets.

Just under 4 hours drive from Phoenix, Puerto Peñasco (Rocky Point) awaits to lull you into a beach town vibe and remind you what life is all about.

The border is open from 6am – 8pm daily. We recommend adding the CBP Border Wait Times App to your phone. Select Mexico Border Crossing and locate your town of entry.

Crossing the border into Mexico is a breeze and specific to Rocky Point. Tourism is consider essential travel for this tourist dependent community. No Covid test is required in either direction. Other than an occasional second look by border patrol and you are on your way.

Returning to the US, simply drive thru and adults will need to present a valid US passport and minors can have passport or birth certificate. A couple routine questions to ensure you are not bringing wildlife or plants that could be dangerous to new environments, a drive thru X-ray, and then you are on your way.

When you arrive in Rocky Point you will find our beach front location puts you steps away, or a quick drive, to all Rocky Point has to offer.
